Search Green County Court Dockets

A Green County court docket is the dated record of filings, hearings, orders, and outcomes in a Wisconsin court case. To search the Green County court docket, first decide whether the matter belongs to circuit, municipal, appellate, or federal court. Public circuit case information is available through the statewide search system, while the clerk keeps the official file and certified copies. Green County docket access also has firm privacy limits. The best route depends on the case type, the court that heard it, and whether the reader needs a quick case view or an official court record.

WCCA Fields for Green County

WCCA's Green County view is statewide, not county-built. Filters narrow a search, but they cannot certify identity or prove that every filing is online. Required markers in the live interface may change, too.

Treat the public view as an index and timeline. It is not the whole file. When you need a complaint, motion, signed order, exhibit, or judgment, go to the Green County Clerk rather than running a wider name search.

Court Dockets: What They Show

A Green County court docket reads like a timeline. Each line records that something happened, nothing more. A complaint opens a matter, a motion asks the court to act, and a setting schedules work. A judgment records an operative result, but no line turns an allegation into a finding.

Parties and RolesNames and labels public under the access rules.
Events and FilingsDated entries for pleadings, appearances, motions, and orders.
HearingsEvent type, date, time, and location when released.
DispositionThe case or count outcome, distinct from a charge or claim.

WCCA is an index, not the whole case file. It rarely lets the public view every eFiled document. Wisconsin's eFiling access explanation tells public users to contact the clerk for copies of court documents. That split between the docket index and the actual filings matters for anyone tracing a Green County case.

Green County Docket Codes

Case codes tell you which docket you found. Guessing from a name is worse. They also show when a traffic or ordinance matter belongs to a different court entirely.

CF, CM, and CT
Felony, misdemeanor, and criminal traffic circuit cases.
CV and SC
Civil and small-claims cases, which follow distinct tracks.
TR and FO
Traffic forfeiture and non-traffic ordinance circuit cases.
FA and PA
Family and paternity cases with distinct access concerns.
PR and IN
Probate and informal probate categories.

Juvenile, adoption, guardianship, and commitment codes name a category. They do not make the contents public, and knowing a code is never permission to publish a protected person or filing.

Green County Courts and Dockets

Green County's two circuit branches share one Justice Center. Municipal, appellate, and federal courts keep their own dockets. Choosing the court first keeps a missing WCCA result from reading as proof that no record exists.

A municipal appeal opens its own circuit case number. The local file stays separate. Federal appeals go to the Seventh Circuit, never the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Two Green County Docket Branches

Green County Circuit Court has two branches. Current directories list Judge Faun Marie Phillipson for Branch 1. Judge Jane E. Bucher sits in Branch 2. Both sit at the Green County Justice Center in Monroe. A countywide search can find the case. But the branch still matters when you confirm a hearing.

The Wisconsin circuit-court directory shows Green County's branch structure and contacts.

Court Dates in Green County

Green County branch pages say the court office manages the calendar. The county posts no standalone public daily calendar export. WCCA still shows events for a known public case. Write down the case number, branch, event label, date, time, and location. Only do this if the screen displays them. Then confirm with the clerk or the branch before you appear.

A setting can be an initial appearance, conference, motion hearing, plea, trial, sentencing, family hearing, probate hearing, or review. The label matters. A conference is not a trial. An event still visible in the history may even have been continued. The Green County Court Schedule gives the full local confirmation path.

Note: the latest notice and direct branch confirmation control. When an older online date conflicts with a changed setting, they decide.

Green County Calendar Gaps

The missing day-by-day calendar is itself useful information. Nobody should expect to browse every hearing by date from a county page. The reliable chain runs from WCCA for a known public case, to the clerk or branch for a current time, to the Family Court Commissioner contact route for a family-hearing question.

Operational calendar information can outrun the public view. County minutes from March 2026 also discuss a possible secure-entrance change at the Justice Center in April 2027. That is a proposal, not a current instruction. Verify both the setting and building entry before travel.

Docket Access Under Wisconsin Law

Wisconsin favors public access. Even so, Green County records remain subject to sealing, redaction, and specific confidentiality laws, and a visible docket line does not prove its underlying document is available online.

Key Wisconsin rules:

Wis. Stat. § 19.31 states the public-records policy.

Wis. Stat. § 19.35 addresses inspection and copies.

Wis. Stat. § 59.40 anchors the circuit clerk's custody role.

Wis. Stat. § 938.396 restricts juvenile records.

Not everything is visible. Adoption, guardianship, juvenile, mental-commitment, termination, and sealed matters may be absent or limited. Probate is the public exception. Green County branch pages describe it that way among several specialized confidential office categories, though access still must be checked case by case.

Green County Docket Privacy

A public Green County court record can hold less data than the court's full file. Wisconsin guidance shields Social Security numbers and account data. Juror information and protected victim or witness details stay shielded too. Read any redaction or restricted label as an access limit. Filling the gap with an inference is how mistakes happen.

An empty docket search can mean several things. The case may sit in another court or county. It may carry a case-code mismatch. A name variation or old converted data can do it too. Sealing or a display-policy choice can hide it too. When the existence or release status of a specific file matters, escalate to the clerk.

How Green County Keeps Dockets

The Green County Clerk of Circuit Court manages records and financial work, preserves files, supports jury administration, and routes public questions. WCCA supplies the case-level data view. The clerk handles inspection, ordinary copies, certified copies, and direction on transcripts or restrictions. Those are different products.

Green County Docket Copy Costs

Wisconsin's fee chart sets a statewide baseline. Regular clerk copies run $1.25 per page, while certified copies cost $5 for certification plus $1.25 per page. Register in Probate services charge separate amounts.

Green County does not publish a remote-PDF fee, court-copy form, transcript rate, or turnaround, so ask the clerk to confirm the total, delivery method, and prepayment. Citation payment fees stay separate from copy fees.

Green County Docket Technology

Green County sits inside a statewide technology chain. CCAP is the case-management program, WCCA is the public case-information layer, and eFiling serves authorized participants. Green County joined the mandatory civil, family, paternity, and small-claims eFiling rollout in 2016. Later updates expanded more case types. Picture the chain as paper file, then CCAP case management, then the WCCA public view, then eFiling for authorized users, then the clerk for public documents or certification. Electronic filing does not make each PDF public. Wisconsin Courts describes CCAP and public courthouse terminals.

Green County Treatment Court Dockets

The Adult Hybrid Treatment Court operates inside Green County's criminal system. Its manual describes at least 15 months. The five phases bring judicial review, treatment, supervision, and a multidisciplinary team. The legal case can carry a public circuit docket. Yet health, assessment, and provider information may stay protected.

No separate public treatment-court database exists. Search the underlying case first, then ask the clerk or the program about lawful access. May 2025 county minutes reported a 48 percent graduation rate. A 34 percent discharge rate appeared in that discussion too. Those dated figures are not countywide criminal totals.

The distinction protects both accuracy and privacy. A Green County docket entry may mark a review or order. The clinical facts behind the program stay out of public view. Eligibility also turns on screening, residence, risk and need, a qualifying charge, and court approval. A case code alone cannot show entry, completion, or exit. Take questions about a public order to the clerk. Confidential treatment material stays governed by the program and the court.

City-by-City Dockets in Green County

Green County holds two incorporated cities. Monroe is the county seat. The Justice Center sits there, and Brodhead has an identified municipal court with a distinct local record route. Albany still matters, but as a village with a joint municipal court rather than a city.

Monroe Court Records

2020 Census population 10,661. Circuit service is at the Justice Center; no current official Monroe municipal docket portal was located.

Brodhead Court Records

2020 Census population about 3,274. Its municipal court route is separate from WCCA circuit records.

City Hall and the circuit clerk are different offices. The issuing court named on a notice tells you whether to call the city, search WCCA, or contact the Green County Clerk.

Map and Directions to the Green County Justice Center

Both Green County Circuit Court branches and the Clerk of Circuit Court are housed at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th Street, in Monroe. This is the current docket-access address; the older county-office reference at 1016 16th Avenue is a separate, historic county building and is not where circuit case files or copies are handled. Family Court Commissioner matters and jury administration also route through this same Justice Center address.

Branch offices post the same weekday hours with a noon-to-1:00 p.m. closure. County minutes from March 2026 discuss a possible move to a single secure entrance around April 2027, but that project is not yet in effect, so confirm current entry and security practices with the Clerk before a visit.
